THE TERMINATOR GENISYS UNIVERSE COMES TO LIFE IN UNPRECEDENTED MULTI-SENSORY VR JOURNEYS BROUGHT TO YOU BY SPACES
HOLLYWOOD, Calif., June 7, 2018 /PRNewswire-iReach/ -- Prepare to enter the world of Terminator in an immersive, location-based, VR adventure unlike anything anyone has experienced before.
Secretly in development for months, the visionary team at SPACES announced their first U.S.- based attraction today. In the most immersive VR attraction ever developed, teams of guests will help save humanity from an insidious villain of mankind's own making: Skynet -- moving through the world around them, feeling the thunderous explosions, the rush of wind from airships, and the thrill of ultimate victory.
"SPACES has been delivering immersive VR experiences for years," notes Chris Hewish, EVP Interactive for Skydance Media. "When we experienced how they brought the Terminator world to life with their unique brand of multi-sensory VR, we knew this was something that would blow people's minds. Now fans won't just watch a story unfold in front of them, they will participate in one."
This thrilling sci-fi adventure is the most advanced yet in the location-based VR market, a rapidly growing industry projected to reach more than $12 Billion by 2023 according to Greenlight Insights. Fans won't have to wait long to take the fight to the machines as SPACES is preparing to announce locations around the world, but for a select few it gets even better. A small number of eager fans will have the chance to receive an exclusive behind-the-scenes sneak peek inside the Terminator universe, physically entering the world of the movie at an "undisclosed", secret SPACES location.
"After developing and perfecting the Terminator VR experience, we can't wait to share this with the world," says Shiraz Akmal, SPACES' CEO. "We build SPACES attractions to be limitless, fantastical experiences, allowing people to Go Anywhere Do Anything™. We're going to issue a small number of special invitations to registered fans across the globe to 'join the resistance'."
The team at SPACES is made up of theme park, video game and Hollywood film professionals with a pioneering perspective of the future, and the ability to deliver unforgettable experiences. SPACES ranks include DreamWorks Animation executives who spearheaded the international entertainment company's location-based VR/AR experiences, including DreamPlace and DreamWorks VR. In addition to Terminator, they are currently working on a slew of other exciting adventures based on existing and original IP, that will be installed in theme-parks and retail locations around the world.
"We want to push the boundaries of what's possible with entertainment," says Brad Herman, SPACES' CTO. "We build SPACES attractions with the goal of taking guests on adventures with friends that they will never forget. With Terminator, our team of industry veterans has created a special blend of physical props, dynamic movement, and environmental effects for a social experience that fans will not only love but will want to experience again and again."
