MAXON CINEMA 4D RELEASE 13 A more fluid experience than ever By Ko Maruyama
MAXON CINEMA 4D RELEASE 13
A more fluid experience than ever

MAXON announced release of its latest version of software, Release 13, which marks a new era for CINEMA 4D.  The current version of the software provides many new features for seasoned users, and several competitive upgrades that will bring in professionals who might use other 3D software packages.

I should start off by reminding you that MAXON is offering everyone who reads this the opportunity to download the demo software for free.  It is by the demo that you can get access to all of the new features in the software and judge for yourself.

The software came heralded with new features in tow; these new features are ones that C4D artists had been eagerly awaiting.  However, there are several workflow features that are amazing additions to the application that are modestly underreported.

A New Look

At the top of the list should be the completely redesigned layout and navigation of the application.  This isn't just a retooling of the icons with the application, but a new way of working and thinking about how 3D artists approach the application.

Yes, the icons are different.
Yes, the layout is different.
The resulting CINEMA 4D is a much more fluid experience.

As an intermediate user, you will find the navigation may take a few days to settle into, but by the end of the first week, you'll come to love the cleaner arrangement - allowing you to get to your primary tools quickly and effectively.

As a beginner, you'll get right into the application faster than beginners before you.  CINEMA 4D is a professional 3D software package.  It has been one of the more "friendly" pro 3D packages on the market, and the new interface makes it even more appealing for those who want to switch up to a different 3D application from the one they're currently using.

It's all in the Mesh
